AUDIT EXPERIENCE: I fully appreciate the role of audit for assessing a service against quality standards and how to drive change for better. In most of my audit projects I was the lead auditor and took charge of all aspects from initiation of the project, defining the clinical standard and our practice, making Performa, data collection and analysis and dissemination of results. Few of important audits with my lead role as auditor are as follows:
  1. Factors effecting delay in operative intervention for patient with fracture neck of femur admitted through emergency department. The aim was to look at what is the main reason for the delay in surgical fixation of fracture neck of femur patients admitted through A&E. Audit is completed and will be presented during audit meeting at Yeovil Hospital 2014
  2. Disturbance of laminar airflow in elective lower limb arthroplasty. October 2013. Aim was to evaluate how many times the laminar flow is disturbed during joint replacement and are we following the standard. The Audit was completed and presented during audit meeting October 2013. Yeovil Hospital
  3. Dorsal versus three point radial slab in distal radius fracture. 2010 The aim was to look at what type of cast is being applied in emergency department on patients following distal radius fracture. Completed and presented at Yeovil hospital audit meeting.
  4. Microbial colonization on surgeon's spectacles. The aim was to evaluate how many surgeons wear spectacles and clean them prior to initiating surgical procedures. All spectacles were swabbed and samples send for evaluations. September 2009 completed and presented at Yeovil hospital audit meeting. Later the audit was published
  5. Hospital at Night system audit. The aim was to look at the new system introduced to NHS for night doctors. The audit looked at how many times doctors are being called by various member of team and are they following the guidelines set my hospital at night team. 2009 completed and presented at North Bristol NHS trust meeting. Later published the work.
  6. Delay in operative management of fracture neck of femur patient's on Clopidogrel. The aim was look at delay in operative fixation secondary to patients on clopidogrel. What are the guidelines and are we following the national standards. Completed in 2007 and presented at Gloucester hospital audit meeting. Later the audit was published.
